wildish edibles

I'm amazed that not only are there so many types of plants -- besides the standard supermarket fruits and veg -- that we can eat, different parts of "normal" vegetable plants can also be edible and tasty.

Morag Gamble's permaculture video series teaches a lot about how to use every part of the plants that are growing in your garden (here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-bU0T-JKZ3kVpO77Nt1hMA). She's so knowledgeable about plants, and she explains really throughly how things work and how you can make it work for you.

Just imagine the variation of tastes and aromas if you're cooking with all these exotic (in the sense of unknown; from a different time; or different place) plants that you've just plucked from your backyard this morning. Fireworks in mouth à la Ratatouille.

addendum. These are tomato leaves. Despite being part of the nightshade family, tomato leaves are indeed edible (whereas eggplant, potato and capsicum leaves are toxic). I tested out a little stir-fry but it was awfully bitter. This may need some more experimentation.
