All hail, thunder and rain

The afternoon was a cross between first snow and a mass shooting. It was pretty magical. The thunderous clinking of the almost-2cm-wide hailstones covered the grounds with a layer of white. It lasted a good 20 minutes, I'd say, followed by an afternoon of rain. It was only afterwards that I realised the damage done. Ice penetrates through leaves and strikes down stems without mercy. It only comes down to luck whether your baby fruits are hit.
