irrigation (part 1) gravity-fed olla pots
The idea: a series of olla pots connected via 4mm flex tubes to an "interim" water storage container. This system is inspired by the "Wetpot Watering System" which is a product that isn't being manufactured anymore, apparently, but it was mentioned in an episode of Gardening Australia.
This water storage container is filled regularly with rainwater (when available) or mains water, and is gravity fed through the pipes, into the pots. This could be used as an independent system for locations that are further away from the main water source (i.e., water tank or tap), since it saves on extensive piping that would need to be run underground or overhead. It would, though, require regular monitoring and manual refilling of the interim water storage container.
