re-cultivating a scoby

Starting date: 25 August. Black tea with cane sugar, cooled, mixed with the leftovers of two store-bought Buchi kombucha drinks (original flavour). Stored on a pantry shelf.

SCOBY after 5 days (30 August):
Some activity is visible on the surface layer.

SCOBY after unknown days (unknown date):
There was more scummy bits on the side of the jar, so I poured in some water raise the water level up a bit. To my dismay, the weight of the pouring water pushed down the SCOBY pillow, and because the SCOBY was still young (or the kombucha solution wasn't carbonated/airy enough), it stayed at the bottom.

SCOBY after at most 22 days (16 August date):
A sinking SCOBY pillow isn't a problem. A new one started forming a couple of days later, and now it's become a thick fat pillow. What's more, the sunken SCOBY has risen up to join its compatriot. It's ready to be used!
