Scattered some alyssum near the kale and front gailan, and some cosmos in the peanut driveway. This garden needs more yellow ladybugs to eat up the powdery mildew that's plaguing the poor tomato leaves.
Most ladybugs are beneficial since they feed on pests like aphids and mildew (are microorganisms also a kind of pest?). Most but not all - the 26- and 28-spotted ladybirds are the ones to watch out for, since they'll eat the leaves of your veggies.
